Final assessment

I honestly think I deserve for my final assignment 76%. The reason I think I deserve 76% is because I have done decent in these categories.

-Assignments. I have done 14 posts, I put in 90% in each post on my blog. I feel that I have actually worked harder when time went along because I kept on pushing myself every time an assignment was placed. I feel that writing is a little waste of time but will also help you improve your writing capabilities. what I do well is I can think deeply on one thing and focus all my time and energy into that one topic but I have to connect to it. What needs work is the fact I can get sidetracked easily if I have not focused onto a topic. I learnt that you do not always need to do the assignments for the teacher and that once you do the assignments for yourself for no marks, you will learn that it is easier to do them.

the tattoo assignment, I am interested in getting this tattoo because the symbol is first off irish, second of all it is a symbol meaning love, third I would get this so I could put my mom and dad's names over and under this tattoo to symbolized they will always be with me no matter what. 

from the hamlet soliloquy, I believe that shakespeare was trying to put an outlook of the play hamlet as a what if scenario but the message I got from this is that love, death, betrayal, suicide and loss of sense are just a part of life.
from when we had to create a poem,This poem to me reminds me of my papa who was very influential to me. The reasoning for me writing it for him was because he still is very special to me and even though he is dead he is still with me also because he fought in World War II...

For future assignments my goal is to always think about the topic it is asking for and only focus on that. 

-Comments.  I have commented around 40 comments. I commented on spencer's, ryley's, fernando's, reanna's, sabrina's, gurkarn's, harjas's, mine, cody's, adrian's, alex's. I wrote what was on my mind if that was to correct or to guide or just to say good job, I said what was on my mind. I responded I think 7 times. I made quite a few corrections I do not know how many but it was around 4 times. I learnt that the more you help others succeed the more you feel that you are connected to a unit. I would assess that I participated to the social constructivist group by these comments I have made. 
I posted this on ryleys blog. I learnt more that I thought possible. I did not think of one thing you could have changed. To me ryley that was perfect.
On fernando's blog. fernando, for your HTML I learnt that when you change the color of your html page. I think you could have done a little better at that video but due to the fact you did not want to talk in-front of the class I respect that. I think you did a great job fernando that was a great presentation.

My goals for the sullivan community and for my classes next year are to be on the ball with my work, to always do my work so I do not get homework. 

-Self regulation.  For my self regulation I feel that I did control my behavior for the most part except for a few occasions. I have missed 12 classes. I stayed on task I would say around 80% overall. I took full responsibility for missing classes by asking my buddies what I missed. I do not think it affected anyone in anyway. Again I do not think I affected anyone if anything I got affected by others. I believe that my self regulation helped a little with the succession of the class as a whole. I have learnt I actually can overcome my fear of speaking in front of a crowd. I feel that I do not need to change myself in anyway I honestly think I am fine the way I am. 

-Genius hour. I chose to do my topic on guitar because it is something I enjoy. I planned my learning by learning songs. I originally planned to do a video but I decided to suck it up and go up there instead. I feel I was successful because I would learn a song when I try. When I did read the comments I was glad to see people enjoyed it and that they wanted to know things like how long I have played for. I learnt that I should not always be so harsh on myself because I was proven wrong by the comments. I learnt that if I do something that I can enjoy it becomes easy and that if I dedicate my time I can do well. I come to school so that I can get a good career and that I learn so I do not get used and told lies to, so that I can take my own learning into my own hands and prove I am not a screw up, to prove that I do control my life and I will not let anyone tell me I can not do something. 

Genius hour

For my genius hour, I honestly think I didn't do well. I was shuddering, became side tracked and was not doing well. The only thing that was good was that I actually had the guts to go up there and play not just go over a video. I think that was my downfall. This is what I think on how I did.

I honestly thought the point of this class was to tech us how to become better by writing on paper and writing poems. When I first got to this class I was first thinking it was going to be all writing not typing.  As for the purpose I figured the purpose would be to well learn what the government wants us to learn not what we have been doing which to me is honestly better. I see my responsibility in this class is to regulate my work habits and to also help my classmates out by giving them my feedback on there work.

The purpose I thought had changed dramatically due to the unexpected words from neuf by him saying for us to regulate our own work and if we don't do our work, it is our choice to pass or not.

 

Honestly I have no idea what neuf had in store for the wiki and the blogs. I find learning to be essential to life, but it does have its limits, I say that because the way it is taught can limit what your trying to say or what you are trying teach can actually take a different turn. As for the learning process I find it to be quite sickening in some ways, the reason I say this is because sometimes it is not the person who is bad it can easily be the way it is being taught, it is best to let everyone let them find out the best way for life is to go by the way they want to learn. I believe learning is something that everyone needs but only if they pick a thing they want to do as for math, science, english, socials, that way people will enjoy what they do not just slack and hate a class. Honestly my peers have not helped as much as I had hoped because if I were to get advice or help I would wiser, smarter and have feed on what to change and what is good. 

I have tried to help others by giving my own personal advice on what I think but that is only my opinion it is their choice to listen or not. A example of my own thinking is when I comment on blogs, it is what I actually think personally. I know what I believe because I go by what I think and if I feel as if it is wrong I will google it. I believe what I say because if I ever feel doubt I will look into it. I think that neuf looks into what he thinks before he says it because h does not want to be wrong. To me learning looks like a way someone enjoys what they do or read, if that means by connecting it to something or just being interested. When I am learning my biggest tell is that I am so absorbed in what I enjoy that I get lost in it and eventually fade to a place where I can not hear anyone. 

list of daily things I do

This is the list I have made for the things I choose to do. It will have no particular order.

1) play guitar. This falls under three categories freedom, fun, and belonging. The reason this falls under those categories is because it makes me feel like I belong to something, is a fun thing to do, and makes me feel like I have my own freedom to play whatever I feel like.

2) getting dressed. This falls under the freedom category because of the fact I wear what i want and no one can take that away from me.

3)  not doing homework. This falls under dirty power. The reason it does is because I have the power to choose if i want to do work or not.

4) walk my dog. This is under the fun category because my dog loves walks and I also like to get out of the house a lot more.

5) play video games. This would be under power, freedom, and fun. The reason it is under these categories is because gaming to me is where I  can just escape and do what I want. Its fun because it just brightens my day up. It is for power because if I do something I control what happens if it is a free roam game.

6) Eat. It is under survival well because you need to eat.

7) Sleep. It is under survival because you have to sleep and if you go too long without sleep you will die.
 
There are the few negative powers like not doing homework.  The reason it is under that category is because some of it is so boring to me and I can never connect it to anything but it all depends on the type of homework.

connections

I am going to connect high school to the rule of mao zedong. They connect by a few things:

-lust of power
-the want of attention
-the demand of rule
-wanting to be the one who decides what will happen to other people
- the power to pick what girls you want

These are all reasons of connections that I know of from high school to mao zedong.

At sullivan heights groups get chosen by people titled "popular" all the way down to the people titled the "nerds" which is entirely in there perspective. Personally I think that to be very cruel to everyone who is less than popular because they may have low self esteem or anything of the sort, no one knows what other people go through so why put titles for people, why not be equals. Something that increases and or decreases the tension between groups can very from a wide range of options. It can go from bullying all the way to being friends (scale of intensity of increases to decreases), due to this it will add or deplete tension which can make sullivan a better atmosphere to be in. There can possibly be outside influences but i do not know of any.
Different groups value different things, for instance what i can tell is the more "popular" care about there popularity more than anything also there egos. The group i am in cares about having friends to talk to, not so much of the way they act because the kind of group im in is a little less than average. A reason i have heard for groups to hate on other groups is these people are the ones who sleep around with everyone, to stay away. I honestly think that it would be non of there business if they do or not, its not your live so why care? My guess of there reasons are most likely around 12% because a lot of the times there may be one person who has a problem yet the others do not but follow like lost dogs in a pack.
Close to 88% is based on propaganda, rumors and some half-truths. The reasoning behind that is the fact that not a lot of things are truth and a lot of the time it is what one person has a problem and others follow. These messages spread through sullivan due to a few things, one being the internet via facebook, twitter, etc... second being in person. What stops others from learning things on there own is the sheer urge of acceptance, stature, popularity, or to lazy to learn themselves.

Since I did get help on the last poem I will write one that is a random poem about something relating to hotel rwanda.

This poem to me reminds me of my papa who was very influential to me.  This poem was the one that struck my interest due to the fact that it made me think of something. Something that is to me, a topic to want to understand yet I found no answer. This poem to me has one meaning and that meaning is how genocide will affect life, not just one life but the life of the entire place that it has occurred. This poem is based on how genocide affects/ deteriorates ones way of life. This is why I chose this poem.

Answer to the questions relating to hotel rowanda

Generally if a race is  separated into two groups and are treated differently, they will gain hatred for one another. Even though they were at peace, one the other race leaves the two groups, the group that is lower class will want to become powerful and more in control so hatred is eventually built.
 The reason they dislike each other is because the hutu's wanted more and the tutis wanted to make things stay the same.
 This hatred for one another is spread mostly by radio, it also was when the initial attack started.
The justification they had was due to the fact that President Habyarimana’s plane was shot down while returning from a peace meeting with the Tutsi rebels.

When i first watched this film it took me by surprise because it had actual footage of the incident that occurred during that time. 

mid-term mark

I believe I should get a B because i have only been away from class if i was sick, or had a appointment. I would say I attend 96% of classes the three percent is because i have either been sick or had been at an appointment. I have over 75% of the assignments completed. The reason i have some that are not completed is because i rarely have the time to do them as the assignments we do get need to be done here is a link to what is completed- mikescom11.blogspot.com. I have done every assignment i have completed with the best of my ability so that would be at around 86% because when i do an assignment i do the best of my ability at that specific time. For an example here is one of my assignments i have done.

Also another example is from the assignment where we had to find out the meaning of the poem. This was my well though out response I apologize for no linking the videos.

The message I get from the poem is the message that the A.I.'s are actually us, the people who are now blind and deafened by the governments that control over us. When it says that we slave just to get by, to me it means that the government has made the people their slaves by controlling the way they live their lives. In the fourth verse I believe it talks about the author realized that we are just pawns and that we need to let our power out by making it so that there is a place ruled by the people not the government or ruler. In the last verse it indicates that people dislike the energy bills but the people who have all the power constantly persist to give bills on everything until someone takes a stand and tries to bring down the government but then get dealt with as a traitor for realizing the truth.

For my genius hour i have 60% of it done because it is on my guitar but i may want to change it to something on war. On self-regulation i would have to give myself a 50% because i feel as i am not the best at regulating myself. For effort on assignments i would give myself a 73% because even through i do my assignments to my best i always feel as if there could be more.

For assignment 1 was easy to do and there is no quality because it is creating a gmail. 

For assignment 2 it was also easy and the quality for that would be around 67%. 

For assignment 3 was easy and the quality for that i would say would be at 63%.

For assignment 4 i would say the quality was at 66%.

For assignment 5 this assignment should have no quality due to the fact that it is the one where you add followers to the blog.
For assignment 6 was quite easy yet i somehow struggled with the embedding. I would say that the quality is around 60% due to the fact i did not figure it out until later on.
For assignment 7 i would say the quality is 0% because i forgot to do that and it is so easy.
For assignment 8 i found that my quality is around 66% because i did get confused on this particular assignment and i feel as if i didn't do that well.
For assignment 9 with my genius hour i find that the page's quality is at around 68% due to the fact that i may change my topic later on.
For assignment 10 i feel as if i should have chosen a different topic because i cant really talk or record my progress without disturbing someone either at school or at home.
For assignment 11 i forgot to do so the quality would have to be a 0%.
For assignment 12 for the interim report i would say that the quality of that is about 66% because most of what i said was true somethings i wanted higher on.
For assignment 13 i would say my quality would be 68% because you can always add more to any post.
For assignment 14 i would say the quality is at 64% because i could have added more but felt lazy and chose not to.
For an overall percentage i would give myself a 63.6% because i dont feel as if i deserve an A due to the fact i have not done the absolute best. My evidence lies within the first bit of the mid-term. 

hamlet soliloquy

I can relate to the soliloquy "to be or not to be" because I have had some of the same things as hamlet because I have felt the same emotions as him. The hate towards someone, the depression, the thought of suicide, I have felt all of those before. The struggles I go through when i am alone are to great to list. When i am down i generally try to find what brings me happiness around me and try to remember a memory that brings my mood up that would be recent but sadly not one good memory has been around lately. - Comprehending written material-G. I comprehend written material because if I do not I will feel lost. 
- Developing critical thinking skillsthrough analysis of literature-S. I deserve an S because i feel as if i could do better.
- Written ideas are clearly expressed and well organized-S. I just feel that my ideas are clustered and not clearly stated. 
- Listens effectively-G. i listen to understand what someone asks of me. 
- Volunteers to answer questions and participates in discussions-N. I do not like being put on the spot so thus i do not volunteer. 

Behaviour and Attitude

- Polite and considerate of others and the learning environment-G. I always try to be as polite as possible and I am considerate when posting anything. 
- Interacts positively with peers-G. When someone asks me a question or asks for my help I help without complaining. 
- Assumes responsibility for his / her own learning-S. I could be doing better for my responsibility but I will soon adjust. 

Work Habits

- Remains on task during class and does not waste time-S. I may get side tracked for what I do but I eventually get back on track.
- Completes assignments and homework as scheduled-S. Still need to catch up on a few things but I do the work I am asked with all the other things i need done. 
- Attends class regularly and is on time ( Abs.; _ Late)-G. I am always here unless there is a reason for me not being in class or for being late. 
- Comes prepared for class and has materials out ready to begin-G. This one is quite simple because it is all on computers. 
- Takes advantage of opportunities to improve-S. I may have a struggle taking my opportunities to improve but I do eventually try my best to get them done.
